Setup Guide

How to install the DigiWinder (version 1.0, summer 2011)

The Winder package contains the following parts: 2 metal stents, 2 motor

components, 2 aluminium bars and a bag of screws for assembling and installing the Winder.

ASSEMBLING THE TAKE-UP

Assembling the Winder Take-Up is a fairly simple and straighforward process. It consists of only

three steps. The fi rst step is to slide both motors on the round Alu Bar. Keep in mind that both Motor

Components are connected with a spiral wire.

Next, you place the Rectangular Alu Bar on the backside of the two Motor Component feet, as soon in

the picture below. At this point, the Rectangular Alu Bar is loose. It will be tightened later with the stents.

In the next step, the Metal Stents are fi tted on to the Round and Rectangular Alu Bars. The holes provided

for both the Round and Rectangular Alu Bars contain little bolts that secure the stent on to the bars.

Make sure you loosen them before you slide the stent on to the bars. There is 1 bolt for the round hole

and 2 bolts for the rectangular hole.

Make sure you slide the correct Metal Stent on the correct side of the Alu Bars. The right Motor

Component should have the red switch facing to the front.

All that is left to do now is place the DigiWinder on the feet of your printers stand. The package contains

4 screws that secure the Metal Stents to the feet.

USING THE TAKE-UP

Using the DigiWinder Take-Up is as simple as it’s installation. After placing a cardboard tube between

the 2 Motor Components (both 2 and 3 inch cores can be used) and taping the beginning of the media

to that same tube, you can start using your DigiWinder Take-Up. Now is the time to secure the Motor

Components on to the Alu Bars with the big screw.

The Main Switch: up for turning backwards, middle

for idle and down for turning forward.

You can increase or decrease torque with this

regulator. Use more torque with heavier rolls.
